The Hemorrhoidectomy Exposed

Everyday there are over 240 million people in the world who suffers from hemorrhoids. Many of these people are so embarrassed they won’t seek help. Some will even rather live with the pain and discomfort than seek help. When they do this there setting themselves up for a hemorrhoidectomy. In this article I’ll explain what a hemorrhoidectomy is.
There are two types of hemorrhoids. One is external and one is internal. You’ll find internal hemorrhoids on the inside of your anal cannel and external hemorrhoids will be on the outside of your anal opening. Both of them are painful. Both will itch and bleed and cause total discomfort. There are many ways to treat both internal and external hemorrhoids. The best thing you can do is to treat them at the earliest sign of them. This can be done by using a sitz bath 2-3 times a day. Or you can use over the counter creams with the sitz bath. Using these two methods you can avoid the painful hemorrhoidectomy. However if they become too bad you will most certainly need a hemorrhoidectomy to treat them properly.
The procedure of surgery is small incisions in the affected area around the hemorrhoids. What they do is cut into the swollen vein to tie it off to stop bleeding to the hemorrhoid, so they can be removed. Then they stitch it up or it can be left opened and covered with clean bandages. This procedure to do a hemorrhiodectomy can be outpatient which means in and out same day.
The procedure can be painful and recovery can last anywhere from two to three weeks. Most doctors will prescribe pain medicine.  Due to the pain involved and the high recovery time, some patients opt to undergo a stapled hemorrhoidectomy. This procedure uses a circular device to “staple” the hemorrhoid into the tissue, which is less painful and less time-consuming than a conventional hemorrhoidectomy.
There are other treatments and options available for hemorrhoid treatment (natural cures such as Venapro work well), but in severe cases of pain and discomfort, the hemorrhoids may not respond.  If this happens, a hemorrhoidectomy may be the best option.  Anyone contemplating advanced surgical hemorrhoid treatment should consult their doctor about hemorhoidectomy to see if it’s suitable for them.
The best ways to treat them without having to have a hemorthoidectomy is to treat them right a way. By treating the smallest symptoms of hemorrhoids you’ll have a better chance of not having to undergo any type of surgical procedure. Some of the best ways to reduce the swelling and irritation is to use creams and ointments followed by soaking in the bathtub 2-3 times a day.  All of these simple methods will keep the swelling down and lighten up the chances of having to go down the road of a hemorhoidectomy procedure. By exercising and watching what you eat will also reduce the chances of you having to have a hemorhoidectomy in the future. Always remember to treat the problems as soon as they show up and you’ll never have to worry about having to go with the painful procedures of treating extreme cases of hemorrhoids.
