Conceptually, it is a good idea; however, “gripping device” should be wider. One has to ” eyeball” the jar for proper positioning there is no guide that naturally positions the lid. Since it is an under counter device it is awkward to use. A friend has a different model that works splendidly.

I purchased this item for my parents -since they were starting to have problems opening jars/bottles. My dad could not wait to mount it and give it a shot. So far, they love the product and have no problems with it at all.

This opener has made it possible for me (with arthritus in my hands) to easily remove most any lid. The only problem I had with it was the bottoms of my cabinets are very thin and the included wood screws just couldn’t hold to them. I had to use a piece of quarter inch wood inside the cabinet and that did the job.
If you have no gripping power in your hands, this opener will be a great help.
